چکیده

Abstract Background One possible mechanism utilized by hepatitis C virus (HCV) to escape from the host’s innate immune surveillance is modification of its pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) altering or hiding RNA which interfering with toll-like receptors (TLRs) signaling and ultimately hindering production proinflammatory cytokines, chemokines, interferons (IFNs). This study aimed examine expression levels TLR3, TLR7, IFN-α investigate correlated pattern among them in chronic HCV patients. Patients included this were categorized into two different groups, non-treated patients treated patients, addition healthy volunteers as a control group. The blood samples assessed for HCVAb, HCVRNA, genotypes, biochemical analyses. mRNA peripheral quantitatively measured comparison controls. Results significantly downregulated compared both subjects. On other hand, showed non-significant downregulation same three sensing (TLR3, IFN-α) Obviously, positively TLR3 TLR7. Conclusion exhausted immunity against may correlate TLR7 on cells subsequent decrease INF-α possibility targeting these enhance response clear infection needs further studies.

Differential expression of viral PAMP receptors mRNA in peripheral blood of patients with chronic hepatitis C infection

BACKGROUND Pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMP) receptors play a key role in the early host response to viruses. In this work, we determined mRNA levels of two members of the Toll-like Receptors family, (TLR3 and TLR7) and the helicase RIG-I, all of three recognizing viral RNA products, in peripheral blood of healthy donors and hepatitis C virus (HCV) patients, to observe if their tran...

Genotype characterization of occult hepatitis B virus strains among Egyptian chronic hepatitis C patients.

Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection combined with occult hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has been associated with increased risk of hepatitis, cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of occult HBV infection among Egyptian chronic HCV patients, the genotype and occurrence of surface gene mutations of HBV and the impact of co-infection on early...

Prevalence of hepatic steatosis and associated factors in Iranian patients with chronic hepatitis C

Background: Hepatic steatosis is commonly observed in patients with chronic hepatitis C (CHC). Many studies indicate a relationship between steatosis and fibrosis progression. The aim of this study was to analyze the prevalence of hepatic steatosis and related factors in Iranian CHC patients.   Methods: One hundred and fifteen consecutive patients with CHC were enrolled which were treat...

Sero-Epidemiology of Hepatitis E Infections in patients with chronic Hepatitis C virus infection in Jahrom, Southern Iran

Background and Aims: Co-infection of hepatitis E virus (HEV) in chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infected patients can develop and increase liver disease and hepatic complications in the world. The purpose of this study was to assess the prevalence of HEV infection in patients suffering from chronic HCV infection. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional study testing anti-HEV antibodies in serum...

The Absence of Hepatitis C Virus Infection Among Patients with Hepatitis B virus in Mashhad, Iran

Background and Aims: Many studies have provided evidence for the role of hepatitis B and C viruses in the development of liver cancer. Although the routine treatment is available for both conditions, no definite guideline is available to treat patients dually infected with HBV and HCV. This study was performed to determine the frequency of HBV/HCV-coinfection in Mashhad, North-East of Iran. Mat...
